I picked up a Wurlitzer X-202 (Estrella) pretty cheap today; it came with almost 1000 records so it was worth it just for those. On a once-over of the innards I'm seeing some teeth broken off one of the plastic transfer arm gears. The Estrella does not seem like a super-common model based on some limited research. Anyone know where I could find a replacement gear? Or should I get out the micrometer and start prepping one to 3D-print?

Hi Dave, I believe that's a WurliTzer GMBH, the German made unit. If so, check our FAQ's for Flippers.com--he has parts . Ron Rich

I'm going to hijack my own (old) thread here... I got my X-202 running pretty well, even with the missing teeth on the gear. I'm not sure it's using that portion of the gear in the record load/unload cycle.
Anyway, I'm now looking to set this to free play. This is indeed a German-made Wurlitzer with computerized selection and credit system. I have looked through the book, particularly the part about programming the pricing, but they do not mention a free play mode. There is a test/operate switch on the computer, but unlike my Rowe-AMI RI-3, "test" mode is truly just that... a way to pull up play stats from the computer as well as manually activate portions of the mechanism. The 0-9 buttons are reassigned to those functions when test mode is enabled.
Compounding things, this unit is missing the slug rejector, so you can't put coins in it either. The only way to give it credits is to manually diddle the coin switches. And sure, I could rig up a button to do that, or pop for the $50 slug rejector (there's one on ebay now)... just making sure I'm not missing an easier way to do it with the computer.

I guess setting the jumper in row GP from 0 to F makes free play. At least this is described for later OMT and kind of in the trouble shooting section of 1982 servic manual.

I found what you're talking about in the book, yes. I looked and 0 to F was already jumpered. However, it definitely ran out of credits today, and I had to give it more by activating the coin switches before I could select more records.

Hmm, the programming instructions for freeplay are to set a jumper from 0 to F in GP row. Then press LT to confirm. Maybe LT needs to be pressed again? Is there another jumper set too for any reasons? Unfortunately I don't have any other idea.

Could be. I'll have to pull the computer apart and take a look at the battery. If there is one, I'm sure it's dead. I'll also figure out where the rest of the jumpers are set. There's definitely one hanging in the air so that ain't right. Thanks guys!
Also, I ordered a replacement crown gear (the original topic of this post) from Flippers.com. Should be here soon. Thanks for the tip.

Replaced the computer battery, reseated all the jumpers, pressed the LT button. Free play now enabled. I was also able to set the jumpers for coin op again and it was then registering credits.
Thank you!
