Hey all,
I have a Wurlitzer 3800. When i put coins it the select light comes on then when I press the selector buttons the selection accumulator rotates . There is clicking coming from the latch solenoid but very quickly the latch actuator moves seems to push back the latch solenoid switch but nothing further happens. The carousel does not advance and the arm keeps picking up and playing the same record over and over Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Kevin, This would indicate a stuck, Read Out switch on the electrical selector--use extreme care here--those switches are as rare as--well, you know ! Ron Rich

Ok thanks Rich I will try to take a look at that. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for and how I might fix any problems should I find any. Should I take the whole assembly and try to clean it up?
Thanks again Kevin

Hi Kevin, Depends on what you find -- If the pin has not been canceled, you will need to determine why -- if the pin has been canceled and the switch actuator is catching on it, you will need to "reform" that actuator (VERY CAREFULLY) so that no longer can happen. If the switch has gone bad--well--- check our FAQs --MAYbe someone has a replacement-- ?? Ron Rich

Hi Rich, Upon your advice I did check the readout switch and a solenoid plunger was stuck onto a latch pin thereby not allowing the selection accumulator to spin. I pulled both switches and and they both work and I "reformed the plunger back to normal. With that said I am still having a problem and hopefully you can give me some guidance on what I might look for. When i drop in coins credits are established and the latch solenoid activates and moves the latch solenoid switch. Not that it matters but I selected L-1 and the carousel moves and rotates around a few rotations and finally stops on the home position. during thew rotation the override switch clicks almost with each rotation and ends in a position that indicates all latch pins are cancelled off. Any suggestion would help!

Hi Kevin, Did yu check the two RO switches as shown in our FAQs section-- Is a pin being "released" when you make a selection ? What happens if you hand release a pin on both sides, then make any selection ? Ron Rich
