Have you changed the 100uf 50V condenser in stepper ? Not sure. Last time I tried to make it work was about a year ago and I replaced in either the stepper or wallbox. I will check. |

Yes I did change it. I remember now nothing would work until I replaced that. Then it would play random records, not what selected. Fast forward to this week. I decided to play records from wallbox and write down what I selected and what played. After a few selections it is working better Plays about 75% 4 records off, about 20% 5 records of and the rest either won't play or are not consistent. No selection plays what I select. Part of problem is probably how I have the label chain. On the blank space it plays a record. If no other ideas I'm gona try to set up that chain again |

Could be the chain, or the only parts that could go wrong are rectifier.

Aren't there quite a few selenium rectifiers used in the stepper and and a few in the wallbox on the AMI 40 select system? I remember a fellow in the jukebox club I belong to got a wallbox and stepper to work on his C40 after replacing all the seleniums with silicon. He said they were all bad.

You're right, there is 2 rectifiers in the Stepper, and one in the wallbox.
But I don't know their specs to replace them...

I'll replace selenium rectifier with some 1N4007 diodes.
