We've collected/restored jukeboxes since 1971. I like them because it is kind of hard for me, to misplace them. I don't usually trip over them even at this age. I like watching and listening to them. The bad thing is they seem to be gaining weight! Thank Goodness for those little wheels they have under them. I can still roll em around a bit for maintenance or sometimes even repair a problem. My wife says I am getting weak, don't blame the machines.
It is fun to just sit and listen, once again, to the music and the machines we listened to fifty or sixty years ago. Expecting vinyl to get scarce we have stock-piled a lot of our favorite tunes on vinyl and 78 RPM records for those "really" elderly jukeboxes. I use a couple of MP3 players and a small amp in my dusty, old shop for music. I don't expect jukeboxes to necessairly increase in value but so far I kind of think (hope) they are holding their own.

Russie and Ron,
Russie, You have some wonderful and beautiful older machines and probably a lot more! Almost sure we met at the Fun Fair in Pasadena. Pretty sure I have all your newsletters! I see your very informative posts on ARF too. I wish I knew jukeboxes and AMPS like Ron and you. I change capacitors, look for burned or heat discolored resistors and even test a few resistances. It often works out but not always. If it takes more than that I have a talented friend who points out how I missed or messed something up and (of course) how easy it was! These days it would have to be a really special jukebox for me to buy it. House is too small and Anna would put a big lump on my head.
Ron, I envy you and your Chebby! 500,000 Miles! WOW! What a great truck! Great Maintenance! I had a good friend who was a retired operator. He was quite a bit older than I so he has gone some years ago. He had an old Ford truck with a liftgate! I took a few machines to antique shows for him. Back then I had a few AMI C models, D models and E models. I would add a couple to the truckload. The liftgate was sure wonderful! I got this great idea to have a ramp made. I would just roll em up into my truck (I thought). I had a friend who was a professional welder. He made the ramp. It is some kind of aluminum alloy, very thick and has additional strips welded on the underside for additional strength. It weighs over a hundred pounds. I used it a few times but it proved to be more trouble than it was worth. I should take it to the scrap metal guys. I don't sale jukeboxes anymore. They are like Family members!

That is the 3rd, 82 Chebby I have had--first one went 498,000 miles before the by-pass hose on the engine broke while I was on a freeway-- came to the end of the freeway and saw the steam all over my windshield-- truck engine was rebuilt and it was still in service, a few years later--Canadian auto mechanic bought it and took it to Canada--it may also still be running ?? 2nd one was an auto transmission--ran it about 200k miles--4 trannies--sold it !
