Hi I have been tt enthusiast since started dabbling in hifi. Have had Clearaudio and gyro products. Forayed into jukebox and fell in love with sound and build quality. I reside in South Africa so not the best place to buy golden oldies because of lack expertise and couple of dealers. I purchased the abovementioned juke and would like to know if its possible to have valves changed and purchase unused speakers. everything is still working although having some problems with " slow playing" tracks. the sound is there but my ear is telling me some valves need to be replaced and some loving to be given . What needles and tonearms can I experiment with and will a hifi technician be able to check all electronics? What would you recommend? Also looking for a wq -200 Wallbox I absolute mint condition.

Sure--it's possible to change out the tubes (valves)--but why ?? As far as un used speakers, again why-? You probably won't find new speakers that fit that system ! As for the tone arm "experimenting" --once again Why ? Speed is likely a problem of dirt on the turn-table or idler wheel-which also may need to be re-surfaced, or lack of proper lubrication on either, or both the idler wheel and turntable. Ron Rich

What does "slow playing" mean in detail? How much rpm does the TT make? Make a dot on the record and count. If it is sligthly less like 42 - 44.5 or the speed is changing - cranky sound - then check like Ron suggested. Check as well the little spring which pulls the idler wheel. Also if the shaft of the TT motor runs freely when giving some spin just with two fingers. If it is only ca. 38 rpm I wonder if it is still set up for 60 Hz? South Africa uses 50 Hz, so frequency has to be adjusted.
>>the sound is there but my ear is telling me some valves need to be replaced .... Maybe the amp needs to be refurbished, no valves to be replaced. Maybe that will save from replacing speakers too - in case they are not faulty.
