I have to repair a friend's 1700, the problem is the records do not line up with the slots when returning to the carousel. Seems to load them fine but they hit the dividers and sometimes break the disk when being returned. I have read the manual and the adjustments but it's difficult to decipher just which adjustment is required. If anyone could suggest which adjustment is likely the problem it would be appreciated as I would rather not spend my whole Saturday on this! Thanks Mauro

Hi Mauro, IF-- This just started happening--NO "ADJUSTMENT" is required !! If this has been happening off and on for years --NO "ADJUSTMENT" is required !
If no one has attempted an "adjustment", check the backstops-- If the factory gray (alignment marking), paint, has not disturbed and no one has "lubricated" the Back-stops, take a can of compressed air with you and "clean them" -- problem solved 99.9 % of the time. IF not, and someone has "adjusted" the backstops, you will need to follow the instructions for alignment in the service Manual (hint--start by aligning them to paint- usually will NOT be perfect--but a starting point)-- Good luck ! Well, I cleaned up the backstop pawls and was confident it was fixed and likely is, but seems the jukebox had another issue he was unaware of. The record basket does not turn with the selector arm, I've had this before on a 1900, apparently it's an easy fix but I have no idea how to do it? I do remember there is a certain position that they will click together and engage. I had someone else do it for me on the 1900 but that's not an option here. Not sure but there may be a special tool needed? Any ideas or proceedure on this? I have been through all my Wurlitzer manuals and can't find a reference to this anywhere. Stumped again, Mauro

Hi Mauro, Yep--EZ fix-- be sure ALL selector pins are down-- put service sw. in service position, spin basket backwards till it "clicks-in". Ron Rich

Thanks again Ron, I did that but turned the basket forward and not backward. I'll try again next weekend. Oh well, live and learn.

Ron, Turns out first time I was "trying" to fix this juke I spun the carousel clockwise and of course it just kept spinning. I went back on Saturday and spun it counterclockwise and had it fixed in 5 minutes, just as you predicted. There are still a few more small issues to resolve but they shouldn't pose an issue. I am in your debt once again. Wish I lived closer, I think I you deserve to be taken out for a nice dinner. Sincerely, Mauro D
