Hi I've got a 1978 Wurlitzer X7 and for the second time I've triggered something that's made it so you can't push the selection buttons in. Last time I got someone to come out and once he found the problem it was a very easy fix of resetting a relay or something, but it was quite expensive and took months to get someone available, so I'm looking for some advice if how to do it myself. Basically I trigger this by accidentally rotating the needle arm too far towards and possibly behind the centre of the record. Last night I did it accidentally, you hear a clunk of something turning off, and then you're stuck in this situation.
Any advice anyine could give would be much appreciated. Is there a way to post photos here to make it easier to explain?

Hi Tony, If that is truly a 1978 jukebox, it ain't a "WurliTzer" ! It could be a WurliTzer GMBH model--I don't know the German model numbers. Best I can do is to tell you, to read the manual, and to look for circuit breaker, reset buttons ? Hopefully someone will chime in here--Please read our FAQ's section-- it will answer the photo question. Ron Rich

Thanks Ron, yes it is a German one. I've got the manual but don't see anything that might do the trick.

In 1960 The US Wurlitzer founded the "Deutsche Wurlitzer GmbH" as a subsidiary. Their first model was "Lyric" in 1961. The first one had a manual wheel for selecions (e.g. like AMI did on some models), but they offered electrical selection with pushbuttons soon too. This German Wurlitzer company did produce until 2013, most famous model is the OMT of course. When US Wurlitzer closed, it seems that (some or all?) cabinets of their last model Wurlitzer 3900 were brought to Germany and completed with here with mechanism and amp. Because over here we can find W3900 with German internal components - no later date modification. X7 was built in 1978: www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Dt.%20Wurlitzer/X7.htmBasically they have a mechanism like last models of Wurlitzer USA, e.g. 3700 and 3800. To tonymc: If nothing is possible, even not to establish credit (which is needed before making a new selection), maybe a fuse is blown? They are all located on the amplifier which is the power supply as well. I wonder why you move the tonearm that much inwards. Maybe to end the record. In that case tone arm adjustments are not right, too. www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/FAQ-Dt.Wurlitzer/ZuruecklegenSingle.htm#Tonarm%20JustierungBut that is not the problem why the jukebox quit working.
