Hi guys, and gals, I’m an avid pinball junkie over on pinside and was offered a Rock-Ola 6000x. I bought it and brought it to my shop and started to try and open it up Turns out the last owner drilled out the locks and now I cannot open up the machine. Seems the bolt was supposed to unlock the left side and right side of the glass enclosure, since the lock has been drilled out on the front of the cabinet, how do I unlock the right side? Also the machine does not power up, I’m hoping there’s a fuse or something obvious to repair, or just a bad power supply once I finally get it open:) Thank you for any help anyone can provide

If the lock was drilled out properly, you can wedge a large screwdriver in it and turn the lock that way. Pics of the lock would help

Thank youguys, the barrel is still there, looks like only the plug was drilled out. When I pull on the glass, the left side feels free to open but the right side does not. I’ll grab a very large flathead and try again. The juke is at work in the shop, so I’ll try and make it there before Monday to try again hopefully.
ill have to remember about passkeys for sure!

Don't "pull" too hard --that glass won't like it much ! Look at the parts catalog--you may be able to tell what/where you need to go, if you know what the lock actually did-- wait for awhile, and perhaps some nice person that has that model will post a pix ? Ron Rich

If only the outside part of the lock (barrel?)is there, take a flashlight and look inside, there may be a linkage visible through the hole. If a lock is drilled properly, only the pins and tumblers are taken out, and the inner part will still be there to turn, and open the unit. My parents' SS160 had the inner parts of the lock removed, there was a linkage visible through the hole that we could stick a small screwdriver in and lock and unlock the box that way. At the time, we didn't know where we could get parts for it, this was before the internet was available to us.
I had a lock in my wall box which was not numbered, so no info on getting a key, so I had to drill mine.instead of replacing the lock I put set screw in it and a knob on the set screw to open it.

The hole is hollow. I have hook tools and various others. I cannot see anything through the hole or the glass...
The story on this machine that I know is The fellow I bought it from, purchased the machine four years ago. He did not receive any keys, and drilled the locks. One lock in the front, one lock on the side. He could not get the machine open, and never attempted to work on the machine. He had gotten at home, plugged it in and flipped the switch, and the machine would not come on. It has now set for four years, and I just purchased it in this condition.

With some crafty investigation I got it open, I basically had to pull on the glass enclosure and use a thin flat screw driver to move the cam.
I have a parts catalog thank goodness!
Ok. I found a switch in the machine, and got it to turn on
All the fluorescent lamps are out, I can fix that.
The machine coins up, I can make a song selection; then nothing
I check the board on the unit that is motorized to move the CDs and there is a “run” led that is not lit. Fuse on the board is good (checked it out of the machine with my dmm). Any help here?
Also the plastic flipping selection pages are not flipping when coined up and pressing page arrow buttons. (Also One of the plastic pages is warped like it got really hot). Where do I start with this device?

Start with the schematic-- check they type/size of the battery, if used, and replace it. Then reset the computer as per the instructions in your Service Manual. Oh, I would also order a lock ASAP ! Ron Rich

Thank you, I’ll look for the battery. I haven’t seen anything yet. I’ll replace it. I’ll reset the computer.
I found more fuses. They were all incorrect, I bought new fuses.
The hood gas hinges we’re blown out, I bought more of those as well.
I think I have the correct lock in my stash of pinball parts.

The 5.7v is low at 4.9v
The 26v is not working on the main computer and not supplying 26 V to the magazine and CD player.
Neither the magazine, or CD player is working.
I will test the 26 V on the power distribution board tomorrow. The 26 V LED indicator is on, so I will test continuity through the ribbon cables as well.
