I am in the process of repainting the metal frame and cash box door on my Rock-ola 474 that was repainted in the past with a pretty bad coating of black paint. I stripped and clean everything to bare metal.
Did Rock-ola Originally used only flat black, gloss black or a combination of both (speckle finish like I saw on some pinball & gaming coin doors) ? I will soon do a Rock-ola 468 which is not in too bad shape and original, itโs cash box door and frame look like semi gloss (maybe dirty?) brown paint.
I intend to redo the coin return cup flap as well, that one has some kind of hammertone dark grey/black, so I may practice the speckle finishing technique on that one first ๐.
Your advise please.
Thanks

Hi Bele, If my great, but not too long memory is correct-- that seemed to vary with each model--- I know it did on Seeburgs-- Ron Rich

Thanks,
I stripped the frame and that one was re-coated as well and will repaint at once. Looking at the other black metal trims on this box, they are all gloss black so that is what I will use. I will repaint tomorrow weather permit.
