Missing Cash Box Lock Guard / Purpose ?

Working on the cash box for my Rock-Ola 474... I notice my unit is missing the 49058 Cash Box Lock Guard (Item 16 on the Part Catalog, Page 8). My Rock-Ola uses a similar cash box and it has the lock guard on it so I could probably make a copy of it.

However, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why that part is there... It does not seem to serve any useful purpose. If someone has a clue please let me know !

Yep-- I know-- having had jukeboxes robbed, this was added just to make it a little harder, to bust open a cashbox and steal da money ! Ron Rich
