Hi all, the juke lost freeplay and album play. I advised the owner that the memory battery was bad. I replaced that and now cannot get it to program. i was able to get it to roll through the menus, but cannot get into any sub-menu other than "security", which is the 1st one. We have the full set of manuals. per the manual getting into sub-menu is "hold down reset and press either 0 or 1. no go. not sure what to do as otherwise it plays ok. you just have to ad credits manually. the prom is numbered 70039903 cd-100 ccc v2.3. thanks in advance. Version 2.3 is positively ancient.

Mark,
This is a "shot in the dark" but I had some weird problems with a CD100B after I replaced the laser optics.
I was advised to do a "Factory Reset", when completed the issues I had disappeared.
Version 2.3 is really low but if the jukebox worked before, I would think it should work to some degree again.
Good luck,
BJ

thanks for all the responses. unfortunately Ron your suggestion did not work. so rieght now it works if you ad manual credits. soooo where to next. I am thinking prom replacement but not sure. BJ mentioned "Factory reset" i do not see any reference in the manual. and I replaced the old battery so am thinking it should have reset already. thanks again. Mark

Hi Mark, There should be a ref to the factory reset in the manual-- however try this--turn power off at the Service Switch-- HOLD, down 0&1 on the keyboard -- turn service switch to "Service" wait for display to say "Errors exist". At that time, clear errors, and go to location 55-- set for free play and you should be operating---unless some "cowboy" entered a "security code"-- then you gotta send it to me to run a recovery code ! Ron: Sorry I was not clear. I do get errors exist, but per the manual "Occasionally, the message that first appears will say -ERRORS EXIST-. This is just an indication that an error has been logged. pushing the POPULAR key will return the "service mode message." that happens. pressing the popular key then rolls through the menus. oddly enough it does not display "service mode" just rolls through the menus. to look at the errors you have to get into the submenu that shows them, per the manual. Mark, I think you are in the wrong section of the manual--go to the section which tells you what each location does-- You need to clear errors, first to get to the Service mode. Ron Rich

Mark,
Please try this.
Put the Service switch in the "Service" position, you will most likely see "error exits", at this point, press the "popular" button and you should "Service Mode", don't try to scroll through the menus, just try to enter a value like "31" then a CD position and see what happens, the jukebox should initialize whatever track you selected.
If that works, hold reset button "down" and press the popular key and you until you get back to the "service mode". If that doesn't work push the service switch back to "normal" then back to "service.
Clear the "errors exits" prompt and you should be back at the "service mode" again. Enter "6992", press the Popular button (acts as an enter key) and when you push the service switch back to "normal" you should see "FREE" on the jukebox display, if all this is redundant I apologize.

BJ, This is not correct for a 2.3 version chip ! 6992 is album free play "on/off" (POP key must be pushed to preform any function)not used on a V3.2. -- 55 is for pricing. RTFM !! Ron Rich

Ron,
I know the "POP" key needs to be pushed to enter any function............
If this is a Rowe CD100 model B, which I have by the way, mine is V3.7.
I thought all the level changes were changes to features the Vendors used, like printing, money amounts, popularity.
I thought that if Mark could try some other functions to see if they worked.
I know "55" is for free credits, and 6992 gets you free album play.
I just thought he could try something different.
Ronnie I do "RTFNMANUAL".

Hey BJ-- Which FM, are you "reading" -- one for a 2.3 , or one for a 3.7 main chip ?--LOTZA (and Lotza "errors" too, in all Rowe Manuals !) differences ! Ron Rich
