Tried installing main carousel belt (brand new one), but it's too big? It's the same size as the old belt that I was given. I thought this was supposed to be straight forward - just wrap the belt around the magazine carousel and two little wheels on the top. What am I missing? Some parts? Thank you.
(It's the last two photos in my album - with new green belt). photos.app.goo.gl/iZviYgJ3UiLphQPMA

Eugen, Your post brings up more questions in my mind then I can answer ! Does the Service or parts manual give you the proper belt dressing positions ? Who "gave you--the old belt" ? Where did you "get" the "new" belt ? Ar they both the same size--are they both the correct size ?

Ron, I wish I had the answers lol. The old belt came in a box of parts with the jukebox, since it was somewhat disassembled. The new belt came from needles4jukeboxes - www.needles4jukeboxes.com/rowe_belts.htm - "rowe magazine belt early models", including CMM1. The website has a snippet of the service manual with the belt - it is supposed to be very simple to put it on... The new and the old belts are pretty much the same length. I feel like I am missing a part or something, but not according to the service manual. The original part number is 202-10895 according to service manual...

Hi Eugen, In a roundabout way, you have actually answered your own question! The replacement belt you have is a 201-10895 and you should have a 202-10895. As a reference, the jukebox-world.de replacement AMI belt (201-10895) clearly states that it excludes the CMM series. I believe that needles4jukeboxes is incorrect when it says that the belt fits CMM jukeboxes - as you have proved! Norman.

Hi Eugen, Send it back -- I thought the CMM had a smaller size record "basket" ? How many records fit in that basket ( count any "spacers/balancers", that may be there !) ? Ron Rich

What is really confusing is that the old black belt that came in a box is exactly the same size as the new belt that I bought. I wonder if previous owner bought it and never used it ( ). There was also a very long rubber band in the box (you know, the ones used it in the underwear lol).

Eugen, You just reminded me of an old girlfriend (35 + years ago)-- we parted as friends, thanks !-- her favorite expression was "Well, will wonders, never cease ?" -- Ron Rich

Something definitely went wrong. The replacement belt circumference is 62.5". The circumference of the belt that I need, according to a string wrapped around mechanisms, is 54".

I keep working on the amplifier while waiting for new magazine belt... Replaced all electrolytic capacitors, replaced one diode in biasing circuit, rebuilt one previously dropped speaker. Put it back together, but at max volume, the volume output is very underwhelming even at max volume on the potentiometer... I added a video to my shared album. I tried a turntable with MM cart at 7.5mV output. Then hooked up signal generator and pushed 1KHz at 10mV to be closer to original Shure N44-7 output of 9mV... Looks like will have to bring amp back to the bench, but I'll have to rig my bench speakers to it and build some kind of 2x 10k volume control... Amp also goes into oscillation for about one second after being powered up

Hi Eugen, Do you have a dual pot on that cabinet ? Does that model phono use a dual 10 k pot ? If so, can you move it easily ?

Hi Ron, yes, dual 10K pot. Moves freely after I cleaned it with deoxit contact cleaner.

Hi Eugen, You miss-understood my question--perhaps worded poorly, question ! My question was -- Can you re-move it easily from the cabinet rear-- if so, you should be able to use it on your bench ? Ron Rich

The wires from it go into a fixed wire channel, but worst comes to worst I would be able to pull out those wires from there.
Another weird thing - it's a capacitor-coupled output amps (2000uF in each channel), but then there are additional 32uF crossover caps in series with each speaker... Maybe they're leaking, I didn't change those giant caps...
