Hey everyone.
I have replaced the stylus and fidgeted with the tension spring on the tone arm, but I still can't get constant contact with the record and therefore, it just skips through the song, and doesn't know when it is at the end of the song to cue the gripper arm to pick up the record and move on. Is it a tone arm problem? A turntable problem? Where to start?

Hi Ben, Do you have the Manual ? And do you have a gram gauge ? That's the place to start ! I would ASSUME, from what you have written, that the tone arm pivots are either "filthy", lack any/all lubrication, and / or some "repair person" tightened them down ? Did this jukebox "get moved", without any of the proper precautions being taken ? Ron Rich

Eek, yeah. Definitely has been moved. Carefully, for sure, but maybe not carefully enough. I can't speak to any repairs prior to my ownership. It probably COULD use a good cleaning and lube. I have seen a stickied post (I think) with lube points for 400 series jukes and can refer to that. I also do have the original manual. Don't have a gram gauge.

I have adjusted the tension spring to every notch and no effect. Should I start messing around with removing the tone arm and cleaning the pivot parts?

It would be my advise, not to "mess with" anything ! READ, the "friendly" service manual-- clean, and adjust the tone arm pivots as shown there !! Ron Rich
