Hello All, Recently acquired a 3200 series and there is an issue with the selection mechanism actually triggering the pins on the carousel to "pop up" - I took a video to capture what is happening: www.youtube.com/watch?v=p12YqIO5R7wWorth mentioning that I do have the complete service manual and am looking to repair this machine on my own without professional assistance if possible I was hoping that someone here could help me with a place to start looking on repairing this machine - Still plays well and thinking about replacing the needle;however, I ultimately want it to be able to use the selectors. Thank you in advance for any help!

Your video shows nothing that can be used to trouble shoot ! -- Do you understand what should be happening when two keys are pushed ? If you have the "complete manual", I believe it has a sequence of operation in it which should help. Ron Rich

Thanks for the response - I was hoping that as it was firing in some respects once the keys were hit, but not triggering correctly, that there would be a starting off place to troubleshoot?

After watching some videos and looking at the manual, it looks like the bottom part of the carousel is not moving around and selecting the pin to pop up appropriately, what parts would you recommend checking out first? Thanks again for any help!

Please read the "Hi Newbies" post in our FAQ's section, then the Service Manual, and use the terms that the manual uses-- "-- bottom part of the carousel--" is very vague-- And to whom is this post addressed ? Ron Rich

Hey Ron, going to replace the fuse now - Just checking to see if this would be the appropriate replacement www.allfuses.com/agc-8-10 or if a would need a "slow-blow" fuse - I just want to make sure I don't increase the difficulty in fixing this machine and if you knew any large retailers that would carry a replacement? Thank you again!

I did not know that AGC- 8/10 amp fuses existed ? As far as I can re-call, it was a slow blow type--should be marked near the fuse ?? Is it blown ?? Don't know where you are located, so can't help on purchasing , other then direct you to our FAQ's page, suppliers list. Ron Rich

Hey Ron, if the amp fuse was blown, it would not be able to cycle records correct? If that is the case, I don't believe it is blown as everything is working fine except for the actual selection triggering the rotating plate and rocker to hit a pin. I was going to replace it as it probably hasn't been changed since the early 70's. Just feel like I'm running out of options that I can do myself, being new to this stuff :/

If you do not understand that fuses do not need to be replaced, when good, then you probably need to consult someone familiar with this phono-- that particular fuse is there to protect the letter coils in the ES-- If open, it will cause the problem you are having-- If open, one needs to trouble shoot, find/fix, the reason it's open PRIOR to, "replacing it" !
