David, One can not "presume" it's a "Prestige 160" that name, as Hildegard stated above, was used for many models built over 20 years--L@ k at the tag on the rear of the phono, for a model number. Ron Rich

Hi David, Obviously if the turntable is not rotating, the status of the turntable motor is important. Further back in this thread (2nd March), I asked a series of questions about the turntable motor behaviour in this condition. Until you answer these, I'm afraid that I cannot help you further. Incidentally, there may be a decorative cover over the motors - but you would already be aware of that because it would likely have had to be removed in order to lubricate the turntable motor pivot.
Ron, it's an ES (or ES1?), the first of the ES generations of NSM.

Hi Norman Sorry for late rely, i had leant my manual to a friend who has a similar jukebox and had to wait to get it back to see what parts you wanted me to check. When stylys is on record the turntable motor IS running.Spindle as far as i can tell is touchingthe tyre, if i touch it with my finger it seems to be moving but obviously i cant telll how fast. There is nothing jamming as far as i can see no bits of record etc. After the first record finally starts all other records play perfectly. Seems to start quicker if the record has a solid center rather than the hole , dont know if thats relevant. Also if i gently spin the tyre it sometimes then starts to kick in. Thank you David.

David,Is the tyre slick-- is it clean? try cleaning it with rubbing al-key-haul-- sounds to me like it's "slipping", and may need to be replaced ?? Ron Rich

Hi David, Another thing, maybe the clamp isn't adequately clamping the record on the turntable and the record is slipping - if you lightly put your finger on the record, does it slow down?

What i tried today was putting my finger under the spindle and pushing it gently up to the tyre, it worked straight away , as did the following record , so the problem seems to be with the spindle contacting thr tyre. Cheers David.

So David, lubrication required on the pivot point of the turntable motor! See the second post of this thread!
