So I just got a Rowe Ami 200 JOA
been looking it over a started repairing some small problems I have notice 1) fix and re solder wire to the cartridge! remove and cleaned the selector and pins with an electronic cleaner and oiled as per the manual waiting on new board to replace broken one which could of happened during transport to my home ( seam like the coin ejected might have Bounced off it’s hinges which could of broke the board so less learned about transporting a rowe) so I see also the gripper arm assemble is sticky and full of old grease and oil ! When trying it out, it seemed to grip record and put it on the turn table and tone hit record and I coul get it to elect if I slide arm over to the end of the record . sometimes it would grab a record and out it back and then more offend it would loose record some where in the middle. so looking at the mech I see lots of old grease etc. the quest is can that be cleaned it place or does it need to come apart? I have a manual but it not that great! Thanks for any advise and tips! sorry my pictures file are too large!

I suggest you look at the above stickies, and the FAQ's section-- many of your questions are already answered-- common sense when "cleaning"- Ron Rich

Ok so I have come a long way on getting the mech cleaned and up and running, When purchasing a machine if the person says it work a while go be prepared to spend lots of time fixing others fixes. So on with the question I have replaced and checked all micros on the transfer switch so that’s not the problem! The problem is that I orly get one side of record to play when I select pins for both a and b sides. I can push the selection coil on the stop switch and get the other side of the record to play ! Is this an adjustment of the micros in the stop switch? Yes I have read the manual but it’s not very good in explaining the adjustment needed! Any help would be nice!

Hi Robert, I'm not very clear exactly what is your question. Are you saying that you can get A sides to play individually and B sides to play individually but if you select both sides of the same record, it only plays one side?

Hi Robert, I have understood that if you select both sides of a record, it will only play one side although you haven't said whether it's the A or B side. I don't know what you mean when you say "I can push the selection coil on the stop switch" or "If I manually push down the coil I get get the other side to play".
In my mind, the select coils are on one side of the pinwheel and the stopping switches are on the other side.
Norman.

Ok I am not that inverse to the workings, you must be right I learning about these Rowe ami. I mean if I push on the coil that stops at the other side ( the inside row ) I can get to play the other side it’s be suggested the I change both micros and then try to adjust them, so I get both sides when pins are selected in outside and inside rows!

If you select an A side only, does it play OK? If you then select a B side only, does it play OK? Let's start with the basics!

Norman I select A side the outer row it plays that side I select a b side of the same record it plays the A side if I take the orange wire off the coil it will play the b side
I am decribing this the best I can.
I can also get it to play the b side if I push the stop switch down hard this why I thinking the micros either are bad or out of adjustment!
it seems that coil is energized all the Time and shouldn’t be.
doesn’t it energized from the micro switch 2 on the stop switch?
thanks for your help
