The MM6 I have has Selection numbers 1-8, it looks like 9 & 0 are wired and are shown that way on the print. So it is setup for 80 records and the 1100 holds 100. Can I just replace the blanks for with the appropriate pushbuttons to expand this to 100 records?
Also, what is the best way to get the Selector switch mechanism all the way off or get the switch bank off?

The two blank buttons have a metal sleeve behind them to prevent them from being pressed. That is the only modification that makes it an 80-record box instead of 100. On the MM-6 I recently redid, I pulled these sleeves out and the *-9 and *-0 selections were instantly enabled, with no other modifications necessary. I bought a set of title strip racks from a 100-record unit, took out the decorative cardboard placeholders to make room for the -9 and -0 racks, and put the new racks in. I am actually selling my extra racks on ebay right now; you'd have to relabel them for 9's and 0's but that would be pretty easy. I used a label maker to make a big 9 and 0 for the blank selector buttons.
As far as taking out the switch bank... the entire orange (or in your case, pink) bezel around the buttons slides out, along with the buttons and everything else. I think there are a couple screws you have to remove to allow it to do this; look inside. The slides have detents about 8-10 inches out to allow it to sit like that so you can work on the buttons while it's all still connected. You can also remove the orange (pink) bezel once you do this, which will allow you to remove the selector buttons or get at those metal sleeves. I remember all of this being a bit of a pain. Go slow, keep track of what you're doing, and you'll do OK.
Looking through my MM-5/6 manual, it lists the part numbers for buttons 9 and 0 as 310-06678 and 311-06778, respectively.

Thanks again Dave! Got it out and and removed the sleeves . Re-assembled and like you said worked, after cleaning the two switches. Luckily, this had the extra title racks. So I'm good to go.

Excellent! Yeah I did not have to clean my contacts, but having never been used for decades, it would be easy for them to be tarnished or dirty depending on what kind of storage it's been in.
