Hello, new to the forum but have a pretty good electrical/ mechanical background so i think i could handle the job with some help from the pros. My father has a 1947 wurlitzer that appears stuck on selector 14. when i push the override switch in on the selector, tray 14 pops out goes to the top, the tone arm makes contact with the record but then the spindle slowly starts to go down and then gets stuck. at the same time 14 record tray starts to move in towards its resting position which causes the motor to cut off and then the spindle has to be pushed down manually. When i insert a coin i hear the credit buzzing noise the wurlitzer makes but then when i try to select a record the machine does not respond. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this to happen? Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

Please READ the "Hi Newbies" post in our FAQ's section- There is no way for anyone to help you with what you have written here. If you don't have the Service Manual, see the FAQ's section for a place to purchase it, and read it-- then ask questions based on the manual. Ron Rich

OK, lets try this again.
Here are a few problems that i am experiencing with the wurlitzer 1100.
1) No buttons on the program selector switch work. Normally i would insert a coin, wait for the buzz, and then select a program. Once the program was selected successfully if i remember correctly it would also buzz but as of now nothing works from the program selector switch except for the program change button. 2) When i manually hit the selector override switch(45117) the motor starts up, and the turntable shaft assembly(51797) starts a little slow and takes a little bit to reach the tone arm. Once the record finally contacts the tone arm the turntable shaft assembly drops down about 1/4"and then the record tray cover(27245) swings back into its slot. But then sometimes the record tray cover just strikes the turntable shaft assembly and gets stuck since the turntable wont return to its original position.
Anyway here are a few videos of what im experiencing. I hope they help more than my explanation of what's happening

1. Are coins "stuck" in the "coin grinder" (pricing unit) ? 2. When was the last time the phono was properly oiled ? Ron Rich

As far as i can remember with what happened to the jukebox was that one day it was playing fine and then all of a sudden we lost sound out of the speaker and at the same time it got stuck on record tray 14. I replaced the field coil to gain sound back. though the unit was stuck on 14 the record always played successfully and this was probably about 15-20 years ago which was the last time it’s been oiled and maintained. I don’t believe anything is stuck in the coin grinder but i can double check. It does accept coins when i put them in since i hear the (buzzzz noise) but it’s as if the whole harness for the encore selector program switch doesn’t have power. Not sure if there are any internal fuses inside of the junction box where that harness plugs into? I know there are a couple on the outside that all checked out ok.
