Thanks Norman! I've been unsuccessful in locating a copy of those schematics for myself. The Service Manual doesn't include them. I have a Parts Catalog on the way. |

The 1200 uf electrolytic capacitor on the 32 V portion of the rectifier board is original and the the rubber seal is dried out and swelled.
I've ordered a new one as well as a 2500 uf for the -20 V supply. Hopefully this resolves the issue.

I replaced the C102 capacitor, with one that is just as old but not swelled, in the Power Supply Assembly. This was to verify that was the issue while waiting for the new capacitors to be delivered.
The 32 V line is back where it should be.
The Reverse Relay closes and latches when the tone arm switch closes.
All is right with the world.

Hi Guys,
I'm new here and am having this same problem on my Rockola 480. I replaced the motor and reverse relay (I have another jukebox at my daughters and was able to verify there was noting wrong with the relay) before I found this thread/board. Unfortunately my daughter lives 2hrs away so I can't double check all of the things I have read here. I was following along until the last two posts, I don't know where you are referring to C102 capacitor is.
I did check the bottom of the reversing relay and there is only 17vdc there.
I'd appreciate a little help.

If you go back a few posts, you will find the schematic of the power supply - directly above "Power Supply Assembly" on the +32V DC you will find C102.

I did end up having the same issue. Got a new capacitor and everything is working again.

Hi Norman - I would like to see a scan of the power supply section if you have a chance to refresh the dropbox link as it's no longer available. I too have purchased parts and service manuals for the 480 and did not include the wiring diagram. I found one on the auction site and ordered it, but it could be awhile until it arrives as it's out of the country. Thanks! TonyJ |
