Hi Gents, Well I think you may have solved it . . .£26 on a set of contact burnishers (ouch!) and an hour of careful pit removal and burnishing, followed by a flush with (non residue forming) contact cleaner and I have a selecting tempo once again! Very happy indeed. I also noted that the stop for the reset coil armature was set a long way back from the coil, so wound the screw in a little to close the gap; my thinking being that it will be closed for longer for a fixed capacitor discharge. I did break the rule for fault finding in that I changed multiple things at once, meaning I can't be certain what fixed it . . . . Either way, thank you for your guidance. The benefit of your experience to someone new to the hobby is invaluable.

Hi Dan, I have had many jukeboxes over the years, although I would still consider myself very much an amateur collector/enthusiast. In my experience many of the problems encountered have been down to dirty or out of adjustment contacts. If the contact ends are rounded or dome shaped, keep them like that and don't burnish them flat. When cleaning/burnishing the contacts, be careful not to alter the gapping. I did that on a sprag relay set up once and it took me a while to figure out what I did wrong. Good luck Gary
