I haven't tried to access that bulb, but I would assume those screws that hold up the diffuser panel would need to be taken out and the panel removed...? (See my Dec. 13th post and photos).

Speaking of 2150s.....how/what has to be removed in order to replace the upper florescent bulb....the one sitting behind the selector. Mine is a very tight fit...and I don't see how it would come out. Remove the diffuser, you can see the pictures in this thread, it fitted with just two screws. Then the bulb can be taken out easy.

Finally was able to get around to re-capping the amplifier! All wax/paper caps and electrolytics replaced. Amp is back in the machine and sounds pretty good compared to before! I think a new cartridge would help with sounds as well, but can't drop $100+ just yet. A couple observations now that I have it put back together and operating: 1. The volume is louder at the beginning of a record, then about 5 seconds in, it gets a bit quieter. Still has plenty of volume, but something I've noticed. 2. It is not making certain selections. Something is not quite right with the selector assembly, but only on certain letter/number combos, so I need to look into that. 3. I'm not too familiar with these at all, but shouldn't the songs play in the order selected? The way it's set up know, it will play whatever selector pin it bumps into next on the selector arm's clockwise rotation. I am getting to the point where I may want to sell the jukebox. I don't have the time, space or energy to get too much deeper on the mechanical side of this thing. So my last questions is; what is a reasonable price to ask on these 2150s? I know they wont fetch as much as others being the budget model. But this is a clean, mostly original "functional" jukebox. I'm curious what you all think. Here is a video of it in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=a776BlwjeZk

The 2150 (or most jukes for that matter) don't play selections in the order entered, it stops at any selected pin as it rotates as you have seen. Newer generation units with microprocessor controllers may have that ability, not sure.

Thanks for the fast reply Tony, and that news is kinda relieving knowing that is one less thing I have to worry about! 😂

I tried converting mine to a magnetic. I have the arm and everything ready to go. I’m struggling with the installation of the stereo arm I switched it out with.
Is there anyone that can walk me through what this is supposed to look like? I installed it once but it wouldn’t play the 45 all the way through. It would turn a little and then lift off and put the record back in the carousel.

Hi Box1527, I think that uou need to provide more details of the exact issues you have. These are the steps that need to be worked through.
1 Mounting the magnetic cartridge (which one did you fit?) and balancing the tone arm (normally requires weight to be added to the counterbalance).
2 Replacing the Cobra coax cable and fitting a new ground free socket (to connect the tone arm cable plug) at the top arch assy.
3 Fitting a pre-amp for the magnetic cartridge.
4 Modifications to the amplifier to bypass the input Cobra oscillator stage.
5 Replacing the Cobra tone arm with the stereo tone arm.
Norman.

I have a 2150. I converted the cartridge. I have everything installed but I cannot get the pressure adjust screw for the stylus to move. The new stereo cartridge overshoots the record and it has basically made everything useless. The clean up was a start and stop process for me. It’s a well used machine and I was really hoping to at least get it playing again. It definitely has it quirks and its share of damage/missing cabinet parts but I still like the look of it.
Really hoping someone can help. I have tried Facebook and asked to no avail. I’m by no means an expert but I’ve really given it my best shot to this point. Had someone help rebuild the amp. I had a speaker reconed. Replaced bulbs and wires etc.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Look at my previous reply above from July - you need to provide more information if you are looking for help! As I recall, the pressure adjust for the stylus is a nylock nut, not a screw?
Norman.
