HAPPY DAYS!!!!FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT WITH THE HELP OF SOME NEW FRIENDS ACROSS THE POND. Come to find out it was the read out/write in assembly was mounted to the frame in the wrong position. Now i took this thing off twice myself to clean pins, contacts and bands, but was always careful to put it right back the way it came off. You would think four holes that line up...how could you miss. Now this machine has never worked since i took possession of it and started tinkering with it so this tells me someone else had to have taken this assembly off at some point and who ever that was put it back on wrong. I even had to take some of the screws out that holds the assembly plates together to get the proper holes so i could line it up and mount it back properly. The record basket now goes to its home position even though its not exactly centered. I tried to adjust that to pull it back over with read out arm adjusting screw but couldnt. Im just happy this has been figured out with many hours of youtube, and conversing online with people all around the globe. Now to continue on... when I just now hit the free play switch it popped a fuse. Now to try and figure this out. Many many thanks Norman and Ron Rich for helping me and being patient with me on trying to figure this one out. This stuff is way above my grade level, but i like tinkering. Yal ever get to TEXAS the steaks are on me!!!
