Hello
Im a newbie to the jukebox world and have just finally switched on my machine after two months of an overhaul, I will refrain from calling it a restoration as its not. On first power up all lights to my surprise lit top after 50 years of storage, but there is a problem, I think i have worked it out in my head but would appreciate any comments to my thought process, its as follows.
When I put the machine onto scan, the gripper motor works, (arm works and platter spins) but the gripper motor cog keeps juddering trying to turn the gripper cog even though it has completed its cycle. The carousel does not spin at all, so my thinking of the problem is this - carousel motor not working so the gripper motor cannot be notified that it is at the end of the cycle and keeps trying to turn the gripper arm cog.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Regards
Darren

Hi Darren, No 1 micro switch changing over marks the end of the gripper motor cycle (Page 47, Sequence 10, Record Returned To Magazine). Wind the gripper motor manually back a bit and then forward to see if you can detect the switch operating. Had you replaced these cam switches as part of your refurbishment?
Norman.

Hi Norman
No I have not replaced the cam switches, I have literally an hour ago adjusted the No 1 micro switch to lock into the cam as described in the manual and i do detect the switch operating, now it seems to be blowing the 3 amp fuse in the power supply whenever i put it into scan, whereas it wasn't before i adjusted the cam.
Regards
Darren

Hi Darren, Faulty magazine motor maybe? When the No 1 switch changes over at the end of the transfer cycle, it just puts the magazine motor into circuit. You can unplug the magazine motor to check. It's a pain blowing fuses though - in these circumstances, I sometimes temporarily fit a resettable fuse.
Norman.

Hi Norman
Thank you, yes i will check that motor, i have just ordered 3 x new micro switches, the old ones do look very dirty, for the small cost its worth replacement.
Kind Regards
Darren
