After countless attempts to have the mechanism working, I have come to the conclusion that the gripper release gear must be slipping due to being excessively worn, basically with the motors removed and manually turning the gear by hand (without the gripper release gear attached) it works fine, with the gripper release gear attached it jams, every time.
Anyway I have ordered a new one from the Games Company, although i noticed that i need to remove the pin from the old one, does anyone know whether the pin is screwed into the gear or pushed in?
