VL 200 short issue:
Hi guys I need some help with a short in my unit, I picked this up a while ago, it was out of a bar that was closing. The owner had purchased it years prior but found it was stuck playing one record and would not reject or select. He used it as a prop and played the record just to show customers it worked. A few months ago he decided to try and repair it, he had a customer try and get it going. After which it didn’t work at all. When I got it ,a few main resistors were blown due to what I was told was probably a leaking cap. I have replaced all of the caps and burnt resistors, with one leg off each cap I tested all other resistors for value. After I finished I connected to a dim watt and no shorts. I started connecting different feeds to the receiver and all was perfect until I connected J16, at that point the 5amp fast fuse blew, I removed J16 replaced fuse and no issue. Since I have tried to remove different connections using dim watt to try and find area of short. I found if I remove either one of the OA2 tubes it will not short, tested tubes no issue. I powered up with J16 wire not connected and listed socket findings AC and DC values at J16 connector. Any help in directing me where to look. Im not sure if the issue is not at the other end on the J16 male plug at selector, if so what would I look at. Thanks pete ps I notice that if I connect J16 and remove J4 the short is not in play, they must be connected somehow. pete
