Hello, Two upper speakers on my SMC have the suspension destroy and one of the two no longer works .. So it's dead, no repair possible. Hard to find new10'' * 4'', and all they are only in 4 Ohms. My question, is there really a risk for the amp if I mount 2 upper speakers in 4 Ohms , and no I don't want to put a piezo like the first models .. Speakers 12'' are 8 ohms, if i put 4 ohms upper speakers, so i remplace 12 '' by 16 ohms ? Good idea or not ? Regards Laurent

I always replace the paper speakers in a Phoenix with horns from an SMC-1 (or any of the mid-'70's Seeburgs that used the same horns)...Some people will say the sound is not the same, but I have done it MANY times, and sounds good! (btw.... ALL of the paper speakers in ALL Phoenix SMC's are shot around the perimeter, just like the one you pictured; no exceptions).
