Hello everyone!
I got a Capri 100 to revive it, after a lot of cleaning and oiling job, I have plugged the machine, and first trouble i find is the magazine motor wont spin in scan mode.
1. checked the 3micro switch cam in rest position. 1 is open 2 is closed 3 is closed.
2. No power supply at all come to the motor pins.
I got a manual service, but what I missed in this squemes is the color wires and current value measurement points.
Any help will be aprecciate.
best regards.

Hi Carlos, When you operate the scan switch, does the play control relay pull in?

Hi Norman; firtsable thank you for answer me back... If you mean the silver relay in the pic attached, nothing happened. ibb.co/yFqy9Ts

Hi Carlos, No, that's the reversing relay. The play control relay is in the power distribution unit - if your manual has the parts list, it's item 2 on page 71.

Sorry about that!... I have tested that relay, and I guess it works fine, I have read according with you information, that relay is divided in three parts which supplies current _____to amplifier; ____magazine motor ( 28 vdc), _____and rest of parts... Now I have checked the pins motor and gets 3,5 VOLTS when operating scan switch... so that could mean that the connections are ok... Maybe is something wrong with the DC transformer into 28 volts? ?? ........I still have investigated; one of the reason of failure could be the selenium rectifier, so if this is the failure I should repair it or adapt a bridge rectifier with 28 dc volts... Any helps welcome....

Hi Carlos, Do you get -28VDC (or maybe higher) from the power supply before you operate the scan switch? It is now a case of working through the possibilities to determine where the problem lies. Had you cleaned and serviced the motor?

I just get 3,5 volts at pins motor magazine when operating scan switch...
I haven,t tested directly from the rectifier yet, but my first sense was "faulty rectifier", need to find out where do I have to place the multimeter pins to check it...
I have neither cleaned the dc motor inside... i just cleaned and oiled the gears with wd40... I dont have very clear how to oil or clean the dc motors inside.. if is necessary, i need to find out these tips...
In fact, it is the first time I turn the machine on, after maybe 30 years, previously I had a hard cleaning and oiling job in the mech parts
Thank you Norman.
Regards.

Hi Carlos, It may well not be the rectifier. If you disconnect the magazine motor (take it out of circuit), you should be able to measure the raw DC voltage with respect to the chassis at micro switch 2 (at 2 of the 3 connections) when you operate the scan switch. That might be an easier way?

Hi Norman;
I have tried in other part because are very hidden, to be concrete in the control panel...is that ok?( red wire+ chassis) got 3,5 volts also... should I check the rectifier, please?
Carlos

Hi Carlos, Yes, you need to check out the power distribution unit including the rectifier.

Hi Norman; I have linked two pics. 1*_____ A Selenium Rectifier Leaf part is burnt ( watching at first sight) 2*_____ Selenium rectifier wires connections marked with color arrows. If Im right ;________Orange and Red arrows wires Comes from main transformer _________ White and black arrows wires goes to magazine motor; should have 28 volts.... insted of 3,5. ibb.co/6RqGHbgibb.co/gFXvDDt

Hi Carlos, Yes I believe that you are correct but you should be easily be able to follow the two wires to the transformer. A silicon bridge rectifier will give you a slightly higher voltage but that will be OK. There will be a fuse on the DC side of the selenium recifier, you should either move that fuse to the AC side of the silicon bridge or install an additional fuse there.

Hi Norman; Although a rectifier leaf look like a little burnt, I got measured the power from ac side from transformer and comes: 35volts ac
the other side (dc) I supposed to get 3,5 volts, same as motor pins, but not, i got 35 volts dc, ( a little bit higher that it should be) even so, seems , that power unit is ok... maybe i,m doing something wrong...

Hi Carlos, There are possibilities, dirty relay contacts, bad micro switches or faulty motor. Can you disconnect the motor, there should be a plug/socket? You can then measure voltage at various points through the motor circuit while operating the scan switch.
Norman.

Hi Norman; Power unit and Play relay divided in three parts, seems to work fine, those contacts relays make properly contact themselves.
At motor plug still comes 3,5 voltos, so at the moment the motor could be ok...
I,m going to check if there are any relays on the middle on the circuit... going to dissasemmble de cam micro for checking them.
Thanks for your help
