Night Gallery was on TV, 1972. The episode was "The Tune In Dan's Café". Anna and I watched that and I said "let's go buy a jukebox". We did the next day. Several coin op music operators still had a few old wood ones but they looked bad. Plastics all ruined, missing parts etc. Finally the AMI Dealer, here in Phoenix, had a nice assortment of machines. They tried to interest me in a Seeburg that, of all things, played the record in a vertical position. I was too smart (dumb) for that. I picked out a decent AMI Continental 2, It, they said had just been shopped out. The price was $150.00. I was, wisely, admonished to keep my hands off of it. I was shown how to lube it. It worked for years. Now 17 machines live with us and we like them.
