I have a Wurlitzer 2700 myself but a friend has a Rock-Ola 1458. Lately when I select songs to play it will scan all the way from blue to red and back again. Twice. But it will not find the selected songs and it goes home to park. I'm assuming something is going on with the selector unit, maybe the selector pins are dirty and just not popping out far enough? It's been sitting for a year or so. And it will, every so often, actually work, random selections will register and play. My question is, how do I open the front so that I can inspect the selector wheel mechanism? I can unlock the front key, open the dome lid, but that's it. Does the front panel flip open somehow? I have the full set of manuals-Instruction, parts, installation and schematic. But nowhere does it detail HOW to open the front door. Several things reference doing it but don't explain how. Thanks for any help! Jeff

Aren't there two spring loaded levers that release the front door, that's usually the way on 50s' Rock-Olas. The door is then restrained by a couple (I think there are two?) chains but easy to remove the door completely.
