Hi All,
I have a Seeburg model C. It selects and plays well, except through the wallbox.
Whenever I select a song through the wallbox, it always plays selection J1. This has just started recently. It used to work fine.
Can someone please offer me some advice where I need to start looking to fix this?
Kind Regards Gordon...

An update....
My manual suggested to clean and adjust the 'F' points. I did this, however, no change.
I also swapped the 2050 tube for another, again, no change.
It does occasionally play record A1, but mostly J1.
Cheers

Hi Gordon, It's very difficult to make any kind of judgement here because there is so litte to go on. What I would suggest is to clean the contacts (rivets) on the contact plate in the wallbox to see if that makes any difference. If it doesn't, then try making selection K10 on the wallbox and monitor the 2050 - you should be able to see the glow of each pulse, about 25 in all. That would help narrow down the problem.

G'day Norman.
Thanks for your help.
I have cleaned the contact rivets, unfortunately no change.
The 2050 tube lights a nice purple light (about) 25 times when I select K10. It flashes fast, but appears to be about 25 times.
Once K10 is selected on the wallbox, the 'Transfer relay' steps once or twice (it's hard to tell as it's so fast), then the 'Play control relay' steps about 10-12 times, stops then steps another 6-8 times.
Hopefully this may explain more what's happening.
Cheers

As a further update....
I cleaned all the contacts in the stepper.
It appears to be working much better (not always correct, but not stuck on J1).
The "transfer Relay' now steps many more times.
I think I've got it from here.
Thanks

Hi Gordon, The transfer relay should not be stepping, it should pull in at the first pulse and it should stay energised until the gap between the two pulse trains. If you select J5 for example, you should see five pulses with the transfer relay energised. Then the transfer relay drops out at the gap (quite long gap, relatively), then a further five pulses with the transfer relay de-energised.
There is an electrolytic capacitor C4 (300uF) which provides the time delay for the transfer relay and reset magnet which prevents them dropping out between pulses, you may have to replace that. 330uF would be OK for the replacement.
Norman.

Hi Norman,
You are correct.
I should check my wording, it is the Unit Step Relay that is now stepping correctly. The Transfer Relay was always working.
The wallbox is now working correctly, it just will not work for the first selection, it seems to require a warm up selection?
Thanks again for your time.
Regards Gordon
