I have a DS160 that I removed the TSU5 selection unit and a SHFA2 amplifier that was in it when I bought it. I installed a TSU7 selection unit and a SHFA5 amplifier. Both were worked by Bill Bickers so I know they are good. Right now, it will only pickup and play certain selections. It will play those certain selections every time. The rest of the selections the mech will scan twice and stop. I haven’t tested all the selections but all the selections it will pickup are not in the same area of travel. This is the first time I ever posted with a problem and the first time making a major revision.

Hi Steely, You probably need to start by doing the battery test (see sticky above, battery trick) to determine whether the problem is a "read" or a "write" issue.
Norman.

I went through all the selections with no problem with the battery trick. So I went to the write circuit. I went to the Jones plug of the tormat memory unit and found it loose. I cleaned the connections first with Deoxit that Ron Rich had explained before. I seated the plug fully so it clipped in and not loose. Everything working fine now. Thanks Norman for putting me in the right direction.
