My daughters Seeburg APFEAI will play a few songs when it's first turned on,then just stops. I've seen it stop right after the record loaded.
She is several hours away from me,so it's hard to troubleshoot. I was thinking maybe a dirty contact, but I really have no idea.
I changed the motor run cap and made sure all was lubed. Still would act up. It also stops at (usually) the left side when scanning for a short time, then reverses as it should.Again,I'm pretty sure that could be dirty contacts. But again....I'm not convinced.
It seems like the motor is weak. Do the motors go out on these? I have a extra mech I ould swap out motor, but it's really hard to do when it's so far away.
I'm seriously ready to give her a nice rockola I have so I can get this one here to service and sell. I'don't unstand seeburgs as well as I do rockolas.
Any suggestion on what I should focus on. It played 3 songs the other day and just stopped.

Probably poor (dirty, mal-adjusted?) contacts on the play control assy in the solid state control centre, see page 13066 of the manual.
