Sorry for any confusion - I only questioned the DES traces because:
(1) The Re-set/Re-select light still happened after adjusting the main switch, and
(2) the traces on the PCBs in the jukebox are different from what I've been used to as a post-1988 computer
Anyway, I went straight to the detent switch, as that is one of the few switches I hadn't yet
I cleaned it by spraying plastic-safe contact cleaner on a small piece of heavy (65 lb.) cardstock, which
I can't express the feeling of bliss I had after every record played as expected. And, I appreciate
your patience and constructive suggestions that helped me get there. I noticed an option in the forum to
send a "gift", which I'd like to do as a heartfelt gesture of thanks. But, instead of purchasing a
badge, I'd like to give you some $$ to buy yourself a deluxe cup of coffee, or whatever beverage-of-choice
you prefer. Please feel free to send me a PayPal ID (private msg) if you have one...it would be my pleasure.
Thanks again!!

tech, so I didn't know what is 'normal' with gold-flashed stuff.
Also, I don't think anything with the read-out process would be involved at that point (input & verification
of the selection number).
Anyway, I went straight to the detent switch, as that is one of the few switches I hadn't yet
investigated while working on the USC2 (and, I had already been over RCA connectors, tormat
rivets, etc). I've had some dirty switches I've had to clean in the jukebox before (like 5M1/5m2
last month, as the "1" and "2" lights wouldn't come on for selection playing). But, I found the detent
switch was particularly filthy:
photos.app.goo.gl/HSfwJzNZtPqYKWPD9I cleaned it by spraying plastic-safe contact cleaner on a small piece of heavy (65 lb.) cardstock, which
I also use for my title strips, and moving the paper back and forth gently while holding the switch contact
gently/firmly closed (have had consistent good luck with that method so far). Then, I ran through the same group
of test selections listed in my original post, including "B" sides now, and also entering 1 or 2 selections while
one was playing to further test the memory function.
Every single selection played correctly, with no Re-set/Re-select errors!!!
