Hey guys I am having a few headaches here with a 100b I picked up a while back, I played with the machine off and on for a few years now im determined to get it fully functional....
Few issues it has
credit unit isnt working as it should, we can adress this later sound is weak we can address this later as well, amp was capped already I havent tested the tubes but im sure theres a weak one or two
what has been driving me crazy is when you select A1 it plays the left side of the second record in not the first which would be A
What would cause the selection to be off by one record???
Once I get this prob fixed I will address the amp and credit unit
I appreciate the help very much

Hi Mike, You know what they say, when all else fails - read the "friendly" manual! You need to look at the contact block ("frog") alignment on page 2151 of the manual. You'll also find a lot of useful information looking through existing posts on the forum where you will see that a lot of common problems have previously been addressed.

I checked into that, thats not the problem, what I have is when A1 is chosen the A1 pin is kicked, carriage searches and stops at and plays A3, on the far end it goes past ans misses the last record, I tried loosening and sliding the records further to the right but there is not enough adjustment in the holes to move it far enough. Its a very strange issue

Hi Mike,
Norman gave you very sound advise.
Either the contact block adjustment is off, or the contact block has jumped out of it's mounting bracket. That's exactly what would cause this particular issue.
Now that you moved the record magazine (record rack), other adjustments may have been negatively affected.

P.S. - I've seen dry/sticky clutches cause similar symptoms due to delayed action, but that's not as likely. I'd still bet on the contact block adjustment.

Hi Mike, If you move the record rack, you must move it by one complete slot so that when the mechanism detents, the lift arm still sits centrally between the slots - pages 2148/9 and then the contact block on 2151. It's possible that you may be in a bit of a catch 22 where the rack is one slot out and there is not enough adjustment on the contact block for correction. What you might have to do is set the adjustments of the rack and contact blocks centrally and then carry out the alignments.
Norman.
