Either the mechanism is tripping electrically, or the clutch is 'gummed up' (or terribly out of adjustment) causing it to overrun the play position.
Once the mechanism stops to pick up a record, you can hold down the 'release lever' with your finger. If the trip solenoid fires at the point the record is fully loaded, you will feel it against your finger, indicating an electrical issue. If the lever stays in place, the clutch is the culprit.

Marty, thanks for your help.
When I press my finger on the flat part of the release lever I feel a “bzzzt” which I presume is the solenoid firing. The record still rejects, though. So….. electrical issue? Maybe I made a mistake when recapping the TCC.
I had noticed an improvement in the mechanism performance when I put in a new pair of 2050s and a different 6X4. On the other hand, I swapped in two different 12AX7s and it worsened (continued playing and rejecting the same record. With the previous 12AX7s it tries only the record that’s selected and then rejects it and moves on.)
Where in the electronics should I focus?

First eliminate the simple things like the trip switch on the mechanism and the reject switch on the back of the machine.

The reject switch was removed when I got the jukebox and there are two empty screw terminals on the TCC where I presume it would be connected. I don’t know if this is contributing to the problem, but the ‘box used to work fine without one.
The trip switch, though, I have not yet found. I guess its on the mechanism. If/when I find it am i cleaning the points….. adjust the switch….. bypassing it? Please elaborate.
I did clean the phono plugs and jacks for the pulse amps but it did not change the current state of scan > pickup > reject > scan.
Thanks!

The Seeburg now picks up and plays records.
The only thing it doesn’t do is reject. There is no switch; never has been since I owned it. Is it as simple as connecting a momentary contact switch to the two terminals on the Tormat Control? Also does this explain the jumper wire from the mechanism bundle that comes down towards the TCC and isn’t connected to anything? Tia.

I would obtain the proper switch, they are low force.
Also make sure you have the hardware that mounts it, including the counter-balance spring.

No, you need one for an earlier model.
Do you have a manual or parts list? Certainly you can find info on the switch.
