Hello, I was wondering what the specific difference is in the Seeberg U100-H model vs the others? Thanks Matt

Hi Matt,
The biggest difference between the U100 and other Seeburg models is the cabinetry.
Another notable difference is that the U100 is a 100 select (50 record) machine; Most other Seeburg models around that era are 160 selections.
Despite model year differences, the U100 shares much of the basic Seeburg engineering present in other models.

The -H suffix would refer to a Hideaway Unit. This woudld be a wooden or metal case with technical equipment inside, but no coin mech nor speakers nor a keyborad to make selections. Hideaways need a wallbox, a receiver (stepper), and extra speaker. I never saw or heard of a U100 Hideaway so far. So maybe we learn a new detail now. Or does the model ID say U100-H5? In that case it would mean that your U100 was set up for 220V (high voltage). www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Seeburg/SeeburgU100.htmHildegard

The H suffix in this case (presumably since there is not a hideaway version) means that it's equipped with half dollar pricing.

Thank you for the photos showing the U100H, the ID plate and the specifications. I learned a new detail and did update the previous mentioned page. Great, thank you.
So like Norman says - and the page with specifications lists too - your U100H should use a Half Dollar credit unit (SPU3H for dime, nickel, quarter, Half Dollar) while U100, U100D, U100-H5, EU100-H5 use a standard SPU3 only (dime, nickel, quarter).
From the outside your U100H was upgraded with the "Discothèque Conversion Kit DJK1". The Discothèque panel and the metal sign with the dancers tell so. So it's U100 Discothéque with half Dollar Pricing Unit.
Enjoy!

The Blacklight lamp was used in the Discothèque versions only. Means, it was part of the DJK1 Kit. In normal operation the standard 18W lamp did illuminate the jukebox. But for Discothèque operation the blacklight lamp did lit up. This feature could be controled by a switch somewhere on the rear back.

OK so the U100D was the only model that came standard with the "Discothèque Dance Conversion Kit DDC1K"?
Thanks

Model U100D came with Discothèque Conversion Kit DJK1. I mentioned the kit wrong before. Please excuse.
So, model U100 was the only one using the "Dicothèque Conversion Kit" DJK1. DDC1K (which I mentioned wrong previoulsly) was unsed in models LPC480 in 1965. DDC1K was used in LPC480 models in the same year.
