I am a new member and if this problem i have is covered elsewhere, sorry. Here is my problem with my LPC1. First off, it does play sorta. If i select any record from the A group everything is correct but when selecting from the B group i get records from the A group. The numbers are correct. Same thing for letter C where there is no error but select letter D and it plays the correct number but from the C group. It is the same all the way down the selections. This error is repeatable and predictable. I have gone through the TCC1 re-capping, checking resistors and tried several different 12AX7's. So short story is that it only plays half of the records properly.
Anybody ever seen this issue? I don't know where to look next.

So it would seem that every time you make a selection corresponding to the 'B' side of a record (example D1), it actually plays the 'A' side of the record (C1). If that's true, none of your record's 'B' sides are playing. I would check to see why the mechanism's reverse relay is not energizing or staying latched. That could be the fault of the right side relay in the TCC. Do you have a manual? If not get one!

I do have a manual for this machine. I had another go at this problem today and i checked for proper operation of the latch mechanism and it appears to latch and stay latched but it still plays the wrong record same as before.
One thing i did notice was that when the carriage parks at home position the reversing relay is energized continuously. When the carriage scans left to right the relay is open but when the carriage reversing switch operates at the end of left to right travel the reversing relay is energized. Is this normal?

The reversing relay should be energized whenever the mechanism's reversing switch paddle is flipped for right to left travel.
When the mechanism is traveling left to right and is tripped by a 'B' side selection, the reversing relay should be energizing via the right side relay (check the operation of the right side relay first to make sure it's energizing).
This signal goes through a bunch of contacts... The right and left side relays in the TCC, and contact RR on the mechanism's Cam Switch.
See manual page 1447 (control circuits), page 13042 (tcc left and right side relays) and page 2512 (cam switch).
You'll need to check all of these pathways to find the failure.
It's a little convoluted, hope this helps!
