Help. I have a Seeburg R. One medallion light, left side stopped working. Right side works. Previously left side worked intermittently, now there is no power at the socket. I'm not familiar with p26 or j9 terms. Only manual I have is for the 100B. Very strange. Bulb is good. Don't know if I have a WSR-5 or WSR-7. Any ideas?

No, Ron can not help you.
The answer is simple. Either the socket is at fault, which is common... or a wire is broken.

no power at the socket..it's intact, doesn't seem to have an issue as it was just working recently. As for the wire it doesn't appear to be easily traceable. I would need to see a wiring diagram which I don't have. Can anyone guide me? It's the light on the left side that is out.

OK, I guess you don't believe me.
You don't need a schematic as the harness wires are in plain view.
Since one of your medallion lights is working, the power is getting from the selection receiver to the lighting harness.
I'll repeat... it's either the socket (most likely) or the wiring (between the two sockets).
I've worked on hundreds of Seeburg 'R's' and 'J's'. The sockets are inferior and almost always faulty.

ok, I'm sure you are correct Marty. Assuming it's the socket how difficult is it to replace and where can I obtain a replacement?..
"Since one of your medallion lights is working, the power is getting from the selection receiver to the lighting harness."
Pardon my ignorance, which piece is the selection receiver, and where exactly is the lighting harness and how can I see where the two medallion lights connect? maybe you could post a picture?
Thank you for your patience.. Rocky Ray..

The only replacement available would likely be a used part.
I usually modify the sockets to ensure their reliability, but it requires very good soldering skills.
The selection receiver is your WSR7. WSR = Wired Selection Receiver.
The wiring harness I'm referring to consists of the wires that go to the medallion bulb sockets. Look at the back of the sockets, you'll find the harness.

Loosened the blue plastics on either end. Used my auto test light to check for power. There was power on both ends but the left side may have had a bit of corrosion at the back of the socket. I rubbed or scraped the test light pointed end on the contact, then tested the socket for power. Bingo! Reinserted the bulbs, replaced the covers, tightened the screws and I'm a happy camper once more. Thank you Marty for your invaluable insight. I've had this R since '89. Had many others prior that I sold back when it was a sideline to my vintage car avocation. On the road again!
