Thanks Norman, I don't know about the 100-77, but on the DS-160 the motor is mounted such that its data plate is clearly visible with the mech cover removed and the mech scanned over towards the left. The DS-160 motor specifies RPM at 1600 on 60 Hz. This immediately identifies the motor as the AC Induction type, which always operates at a somewhat lower speed than the synchronous line frequency. A synchronous 4-pole motor would run at 1800 RPM (exactly) on 60 Hz, 1500 on 50 Hz.

Thanks for posting the link. Sure explains why Ron said that Bodine and NIDEC motors are not interchangeable. The gearing would have to be different.
