Hi Gordon, That generally is an indication that the contact points are both "contaminated"/ burned /pitted, or that the contact point itself has worn down so much it can no longer handle the current. I usually replace the contact, if I can't stop the arching by proper cleaning. Ron Rich

WHEN should contacts be cleaned? plastic safe contact cleaner and an acid brush. my box works just fine, but should contact cleaning be part of general maintenance? just oiled it all up and now's the time i'd like to go through any contacts I can find and clean them. or is this more of a "it's working so leave it alone" area...
