Hi,
My SPS160 has developed an intermittent problem I've been unable to figure out.
After sitting off overnight or for a few days, when I turn it on and make a selection it will scan past the selection the first time, and usually will find it on the second pass (about 80% of the time). Occasionally, it will scan twice, if I start the mech again with the service switch, it will find it on the 3rd or 4th scan.
I've been through the "select trip" diagram in the manual and I've cleaned and adjusted the 2M1 contact, this has helped the problem but not eliminated it. The cabinet switch has been removed and two of the wires are spliced together. The diagram shows a couple of caps in the power supply board on the DCC, I haven't replaced any caps there, I'm wondering if a weak cap could be causing the problem?
I'm guessing I need to go back to the 2M1 switch, but just thought I'd ask and see if there are any other ideas.
Thanks in advance for any comments & suggestions.
Bill

Hi Bill, You are on the right train, but that train somehow has gotten off track. Do you have a copy of my "Seeburg MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guide" ? If so, read the DCC service notes and follow the guide to the read-out contacts and detent switch adjustments. ( If you wish to purchase it, contact me off forum at: ronnnrich@yahoo.com). Ron Rich

Ron,
Thanks. The answer was there in the pages of your Guide...
I found the detent switch was dirty and not much meat, if any, was actually left on the contact points. I'm surprised it worked at all!
I had a spare in better shape from a phono that I parted, after install & adjustment everything worked good.
Thanks again for your help and hope you are feeling better (I saw you mentioned on some other posts you were in the hospital).
Bill
