I was playing my Seeburg 146 today and all the sudden I lost all bass. I’m not sure what happened. All tubes are lit...maybe there’s a bad one? Anything I could look for?

Edison, When was the last time your amplifier was properly re-built ? If "years ago", it's probably time. If recently, check for an open in the bass control, or one of the tube sockets connections - "rattle" the tubes in their sockets-- Ron Rich

I’m not sure to be honest!! I kinda tapped them while playing...prolly wasn’t supposed too...and one turned blue color!! So I turned it off. I noticed the middle one (before I tapped on them) is burning brighter than the other two like it. I turned it off, and made sure they were seated, and back on and there’s a ehhhh sound...not a hum. So I think they’re bad or something idk. I guess getting a set won’t hurt. I was really wanting it playing well for my sons 2nd bday party.
Oh and this happened when I cranked up the volume a bit. I was trying to get an Andrews sisters record louder, and when it started playing roll over Beethoven, it was really loud! Lol and I lost bass.

Edison, IMHO, it would be best to remove the amp and send it to a "legitimate" repair person--will cost less, in the long run ! Ron Rich

I pulled the tubes, cleaned the dust, and put them back...everything I so working perfectly! Maybe something forbids moved around when I hauled it to the house. Either way, I think I’ll send the amp off after the party.

Sent it off to JFN, just got word that everything works great, all tubes are good, just the volume was really low, so he’s going to fix that.
So not sure why I lost the light in that tube, or lost bass...very weird. He said the caps in there that someone replaced are all of good quality.
Not sure what else could be the issue. Unless I have something wrong with my cartridge?

Edison, Don't know who "JFN" is--but OK--usually losing a heater, temporarily, in a tube is due to a poor connection in the socket--and thanks for posting this. Ron Rich
