Hi all,
New member here from Sri Lanka.
I have just received my Wurlitzer 2000 which I purchased in UK.
Initially the machine played fine but I had it plugged into a multi plug / adapter and the connection was not good so it blew one of the 5A fuses in the bottom of the machine. It was the one on the side closer to the coin mechanism. (left side when looking in from behind)
When this fuse blew, the symptom was that when I press a letter and then a number, I hear a noise and the buttons release but the carousel does not turn.
Replaced the fuse and plugged the machine directly to a wall socket and it worked fine but suddenly that same symptom came again.
This time none of the fuses were blown.
removed and re fitted the fuses and manually moved the arm visible from the back (it made the carousel move too) then tried the machine and it worked.
Works fine like this for a while and then again the carousel not turning happens. Don't do anything and try again in a few minutes and it works !!
I would like to know what I should be cleaning, adjusting to fix this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second issue is that I was playing several records in a row and suddenly when it came to the selections with the number zero (0) at the end, the carousel turns to the correct position but the wrong record lifting arm extends....
Example, I selected S0. The carousel turned to the correct position for the S0 record to be picked up by the arm on the left (when looking from front) ... the black "record playing" tag should lift up... but once the carousel rotated to the correct position, it is the right side lift arm (the one with the red tag) that lifted up.
Tried this for several records (left side black tag) with 0 as the number and this same thing happened. The carousel rotates correctly but the red tag arm lifts up.
Then I tried a red tag record and it selected correctly.
Played several black tag number 1 and 2 records which played fine and just tried S0 again.... worked fine then !!!
What am I looking at here ??
This machine was transported by road, crated, shipped and again moved by road before it finally sat down in my living room so things may have been shaken inside.
Thanks for your help !
