I was tinkering and guess I must have made a bunch of selections. I have things working now and it's cycling through all the selections I made.
Is there a way of clearing the selection 'memory' or is hitting the cancel switch for eternity the only option?
Didn't find anything in the manual about this, or in my searches here.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Gary Lee, Do you understand how that mechanism's selection system works ? If so, you could easily see the answer to that question. That answer is contained in our "stickies" in the FAQ's section here, and in detail, in my Seeburg Mechanism guide--and, believe it or not "between the lines" in the service manual. Ron Rich

Well, for what it's worth I did just order your Seeburg Mechanism Guide and hopefully will receive it by the weekend.
I'm slowing learning how it works, but haven't managed to find it searching through the FAQs.
The service manual is cryptic enough where I'm not skilled yet to read between the lines.
Guess I'll keep canceling one selection at a time.

Gery, if it is a tormat based unit(L-100 -on) simply remove the RCA plug going to the pulse amp and let the machine scan out. Place plug back when done.
If it is a electro-mechanical you'll have to look under the memory bank and slide all the pin to the outward position -that is away from the center of the pinbank.

Rob, NO, on the EM type--what you suggested will worsen that situation !! *=)) rolling on the floor Ron Rich

Well shoot.... I goofed then and pushed out the pins. Realizing it didn't fix the issue, I put them all back in the inside position.
Ron, if your mechanism guide will work me through this, then I'll wait for it to arrive.
Otherwise, any suggestions on how to cancel out the selections and 'reset' it back to normal?

Gary, Nope--you did not "goof"--Rob did ! Pushing them ALL the way IN, should stop that mechanism. Ron Rich

Gary, READ your service manual--the "trouble shooting" section covers this well ! Ron Rich

Yup, I'm reading the manual. Just having to reread and reread to get a better understanding and process the info, which is fine, however the only trouble shooting section in my manual is focused on amp & sound. I got the mechanism to stop by pushing the pin in and can make a new selection just fine. It's when I cancel the selection that the pin doesn't reset. Just scans and goes back to the selection. Will go back through the manual though. Probably something I missed cleaning.

Gary Lee, Donno which "manual" you have, but if sold by one of the "legit" sellers, listed in our FAQ's above, it should have page 114 in it---If it is NOT there, contact the seller ! Ron Rich

Yikes, you are correct. Lots of pages missing. Unfortunately, I've had this forever. So, paying a little stupid tax. I'll be grabbing a real manual asap.
Wish electronic was an option to speed up searching.
Anyway, thanks for your help.

Sorry about that, I'd forgotten about that obvious detail in those old machines. You acted correctly, the reset plungers push the pins inward toward the center. RobNYC

No problem. It happens. I just ordered the manual, again, as the one I have is missing information. I also ordered Ron's guide. Might as well have it all.
Since the selection doesn't reset, I'm assuming this is likely a contact cleaning issue. I'll go back through. Let me know if you have other suggestions.
thanks,

Gary Lee, Probably NOT a "contact" problem, unless it happens on both sides of the record--probably a dirty pin plunger in the cancel coil. If this phono was not "tied down, properly" for shipment, there may be some damage--. Ron Rich
