More little aggregations! I have a1700 mech set up on a rolling stand, its sole purpose is for testing amplifiers. A few months ago I used it and before rolling it back into the corner the lift arm jammed in the up position, I decided not to waste time and deal with it next time I needed to use it. So I needed to test an amp today, rolled it out, unjammed the arm and tripped a pin. It cycled normally and tone arm released as it should but the needle stops short of the record by about 1/8". Nobody has touched any adjustments and I can't see any obstructions. Also when I touch the needle I dont hear anything coming from the speaker. What could cause the tonearm to behave this way and is the no sound related?? Just when I was getting cocky thinking I'm getting pretty good at this something always knocks you down to reality! Thanks for any help, Mauro

Mauro, Easy--your record is too thin ? OK-- somehow the motor that moves the cam is stopping too soon -- It's not getting that arm down, nor flipping the mute switch---gonna need to watch it work and find and fix the restriction. Ron Rich
