I am trying to connect a wall box to a seeburg V200 with the TSR1 receiver and stepper. The receiver is missing the 25v transformer so since I had a wallbox power supply on hand I just thought I'd use that but stepper does nothing. Then I got to thinking perhaps the 25 volt chassis mounted transformer is needed to power the coils and the additional power supply does not take its place? Are my assumptions correct? Do I need to have the 25v transformer T2 on the chassis as well to use the wallbox? Thanks in advance (Ron), Mauro

In theory, what you are doing should be fine. What may be stopping it working is that the 25V ground side of the wallbox power supply has to be connected to the ground of the TSR1 (you can do this via J9) - it's not enough just to take the signal from the wallbox in. I will let Ron confirm this!

Yep--Guyz--Wallbox transformer only supplies the "hot 25 vac". Orange wire must be common to the TSR, and transformer. Ron Rich

Thanks guys! Is orange wire the ground? I'm not near the jujebox today.

Ok, just found the schematic. Orange is ground. So what I have to do is put a jumper wire from orange of the 3 prong wallbox plug at the power supply and connect it to the ground (orange) of the 3 pin wallbox plug in the stepper/selection receiver and that will complete the circuit?

That should do it-- 'orange' in the Seeburg 3 wire wallbox circuits, is common ground (earth). Green is 25vac (hot), blue is signal Ron Rich

Well, I got the wallbox working, my friend is thrilled! He's having a Christmas party and can't wait to show it off. After hooking up the grounds as suggested it still didn't work, studied the schematic and followed it in the stepper. Turns out the 100 ohm 1w resistor on the stepper 2D21 thyratron tube was missing, it must have burned up at some point. Probably when the 25v transformer smoked? I replaced it and it took off and selected. Just thought if share that with you. Thanks!!

Hi Mauro, Sorry--no one could see something like that over the internet !! --LOL -- Hint: change that resistor to a half watt CARBON version. It then becomes a fuse, and will, hopefully, burn out prior to the #1 coil burning out !! Ron Rich.
