Hello,
I'm restoring a 100R and it came without the waterfall glass and frames. I have reproduction parts from Victory Glass. Noticed that the glass is ~0.200" thick and the frame channel is about 0.250", so the glass is "loose" in the frames. Since I don't have originals to compare to, I'm wondering if there was anything used in the frames originally to keep the glass from moving?
I have both manuals from VG as well, but they don't have a cabinet/overall exploded view or parts list to reference.
Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill, Originally, it was "Black Magic Tough Glue" and the glass was thicker ! Today use any clear, non-dry, "bathtub" sealer--works well-- Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the feedback.
I had a hard time putting "goo" on these parts, what I ended up doing is using some glass setting tape I had on hand to fill the gap.
Needed the tape to fill a gap of about 0.090", the tape I had was 0.030" thick, ended up putting two layers on one side and one layer on the other to take up the space. Then just trimmed the excess with a razor blade after assembling the glass to the frame. Turned out great with no mess and the next guy can disassemble/service easily too.
The glass setting tape is available in several different thicknesses (measure carefully before ordering!) but is also 10X or more the cost of a tube of goo...
Anyway, just thought I'd mention this as an alternative method.
Thanks again and I'm sure I'll have more questions as I proceed further on this phono.
Bill
