Hi All, I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction, my 1978 Niagra 2 which I have owned for over 15 yrs, has developed an annoying fault , it starts to play a record and then trips out the main house fuse board.
I have unplugged the cabinet lighting to see if the problem was in that but it still does it , any help in locating the possible problem would be greatly appreciated.

Whatz a "Niagra" ? If house fuse is "blowing" you have a "nasty short" somewhere in that phono--un-plug it and locate/fix short prior to "blowing more fuses" !! Also please read/comply with posting rules as shown in the "introduction section" here. Thanks, Ron Rich, board monitor

Hi Ron If you Google Wurlitzer Niagara 2 , you will see it is a second generation European jukebox. I know there is a problem with my jukebox, I was just hoping somebody maybe able to point me in the right direction. As for blowing fuses in the houses in Europe we have trip switches for each individual circuit, which cut the power to the item should they detect a current change, so no blown fuses. I am sorry if I have violated or not complied with your posting rules.

Hi, OK--Now were closer--you stated it "--trips out the main FUSE board--". This would translate to a "fuse" blowing in my mind. From what you have just posted, I will need to assume it's a Ground Fault Interrupt Circuit (GFI, or GFIC). If correct, you will need to figure out EXACTLY, where in the sequence of operation this happens, and repair the item inside the phono, that is turned on at that instant. Is this point when the turntable motor starts ?? Ron Rich
