My wurlitzer 2710 makes a loud squeal when pushing a record up to play.I suspect a dry bearing in the gearmotor. Or is this normal? Looks like a bear to remove unless there is a trick I'm missing. I can get to 1 bolt, but others..... Almost looks like whole mech can be slid out but not sure how? Thanks.

No--Not "normal" ! Where is it coming from, have you oiled the motor-- lift arms --does it do this on both record sides ??--yes--the whole "platform" containing the mechanism, comes out and should be placed on a "mech stand" for better access. Ron Rich

I got it pulled out and removed the gearmotor. Had to drill out the peened over corners to open the gearcase, and it was dry. There was no excess play in bushings so I lubed it and now it operates smoothly and quietly. If you ever take one apart, pay special attention to the little washer-like spacers on each gear axle. They need to be there, and are easy to lose as sometimes they cling to the gear and sometimes they stick to the gear. Also in this box was a flat plastic disc that acts as a thrust washer under the end of the motor shaft to keep it from digging into the bottom of case. I lost it and had to make one. It took most of one morning but now it runs like a dream. Thanks,Rich.
