Hello everyone,
I'm looking to pick up my first Jukebox and considering a Rock-ola 490 (supersound 2). I have found one locally which the owner claims is working A1 but hasn't had running in years.
I have looked at the unit and it is certainly a clean looking jukebox. However, it powers on but will not play any 45's. The owner claims there was a "code" that was used to initiate the unit which he seems to have lost.
Does this sound accurate to anyone and if so, is there a generic "code number" that can be user to get everything going?
Any help the community can provide would be appreciated and it likely won't be the last!
Thanks everyone.

Hi Blackfly, Only "code" on this model I know of is the "code" for setting the phono on "free play" (but I don't recall it- It MAY show on the computer ??)! Did you try coins ?? Before you purchase this phono, I strongly urge you to remove the "computer" from the wall, examine the connectors-especially the long, "fat" ribbon cable, for any signs of "burning" at the connector* ! Next open the computer, and check for battery leakage--damage-- these are "famous" for that--if none is shown, remove the battery--run a red wire from the + terminal long enough to fit OUTside the computer, and a black wire from the neg terminal--use "Velcro" to attach the NEW battery outside the computer. See our FAQ's section above, PURCHASE, and read the Service Manual -- it has the "code" in it. I would also strongly urge that you properly lubricate it prior to using it. Ron Rich *if burned, plan on at least replacing the connector on that wire-- if burned on the computer-- well-- those computers are now nearly impossible to find in good order--
